Workshop
Greenspace · August 2026
Greenspace brought its Corporate Urban Farmers workshop to State Street Sydney this month, giving the team a hands-on introduction to growing their own microgreens — whether at their desk, in the office kitchen, or at home.
Rather than a straight product handout, the session started with a walkthrough of what it actually takes to grow microgreens successfully at home: light, water, timing, and the small habits that make the difference between a thriving tray and a disappointing one. The Greenspace team shared tips and tricks from growing at commercial scale, translated down to a kitchen bench or windowsill.
Each participant took home a full growing kit: a compostable grow pot, growing medium, a bottle of nutrient solution, and a selection of seed packets — including Red Daikon and Micro Kale — plus simple instructions to keep them going well past the workshop.
With the theory covered, everyone got stuck into the practical part — preparing their pots, adding growing medium and nutrient solution, and seeding their own Red Daikon and Micro Kale for sprouting. It's a genuinely hands-on close to the session, and the kind of thing that sticks a lot better than a slide deck.
In a week or two, everyone in the room will have their own tray of microgreens ready to harvest — a small, tangible reminder of hyper-local growing that started with a workshop over a lunch break.
